One of my best friends growing up, has turned into one of THOSE people. Not something racist. He's someone who has turned into a boring, kid- and pet-obsessed facebook poster.
In high school, we'd screw around installing car stereos and other vehicular shenanigans. We went to different colleges but kept in touch, and visited each other for various fun stuff. Street racing, new years eve parties, etc.
Now that we're in our early thirties, he got married and had a kid, which doesn't necessarily stop you from being cool. But. Every month, he posts a picture of his daughter with an iPad that says ho how old she is, in months. He created a facebook page for his foo foo yippy dog, and posts, as if he were the dog.
He also got a brand new Honda Odyssey. Now, I like minivans! They're great for their intended purpose. But he's only got one kid. Normal cars hold one kid just fine.
But really the kicker is that dog facebook page. Ugh.

Facebook just made me unhappy, seeing all those people, so I bounced.

I'm early 30s, quit FB, Snapchat my kids to my coworkers, mostly because at 2& 4 they are clumsy or doing something with laughing about.
Sorry to hear about your friend. Kid do change everything though. EVERYTHING!
But I'm still an asshole... sometimes and think I'm funny.

It happens. You get into what you like to do now or people convince you that this is what you should do. Sometimes it stays similar to what you already do, sometimes it is influenced by spouses and kids and people you know.
I never filled that mold. I was always the one they asked "Is he was ever going to change"?
Most of your friends are going to change. It is inevitable.

Everything is wrong with cats and dogs having facebook pages. FACEBOOK IS FOR HUMANS. If an animal wants a facebook page, it can fucking learn our language, then learn our basic computer skills and write the damn posts itself.

I'm sorry for your loss. It is disappointing when someone you are/were close to, becomes someone completely different. It usually has something to do with a girl (or guy) they met or a kid they have. Sure people change/grow overtime, but it sucks when it's for the worse.

Hell, I post the occasional picture of my cat. But nobody should make a facebook page for their pet and say shit on its behalf.
This little bag of yips and one baby do not require a minivan.

UUUHUHHHHHHGGGHGH, I can almost hear that horrible high pitched "yip yip yip yip yip yip yip!" These little motherfuckers make all day when their terrible owners are away. Man....
Act one after acquiring a time machine; the first human to realize dogs can be domesticated is getting taken out. After that, me and my cloaked sniper rifle are going to make sure wolves don't make it out of the paleolithic.

But he's so cute!
And of course, he may very well expand the family within the next few years.

When you get married, priorities change. I also made a FB for my cat once, pre-marriage. I did it purely because my cat WAS/IS awesome. Seriously, he was practically a dog, loved heavy metal, and I'm pretty sure we had a secret handshake. I made the page for the lulz.
But you right, being a parent doesn't stop you from being cool, but the definition of what is 'cool' might differ from person to person.
Like with me, I'm more than likely gonna be a kid at heart, forever. I love watching cartoons, collecting action figures, doing things others don't think are appropriate for my age (27). Oh well...

People find it funny that I collect diecast cars while my wife collects knives.
I'm pretty sure I'm too stubborn to change.

Yep, I can attest to this. Mom and dad don't have much 'alone' time anymore, lol.

I really dislike dogs like that.

Have you considered an intervention? Or, barring that, a mercy killing?

Yeah....I know what you mean. I don't like when people resign from being fun and a little reckless (just the right amount).
I mean its not bad, but I dislike it.
